North Posey VS Pike Central Game Recap
The North Posey Vikings closed out their regular season with a 45-14 victory over the Pike Central Chargers. The game saw standout performances, particularly from star running back Jed Galvin, who had an explosive first half with 16 carries for 204 yards and three touchdowns, all before halftime. Galvin also contributed through the air with three receptions for 56 yards and two touchdowns. With the Vikings holding a commanding 38-7 lead at halftime, Galvin was rested in the second half, wrapping up his night just 12 yards shy of 5,000 career rushing yards—a milestone he aims to surpass in the postseason. Quarterback Carter Schickel threw for three touchdowns but had a mixed performance, throwing three interceptions. Despite the turnovers, the Vikings’ offense was efficient and relentless in the first half, creating a lead too large for the Chargers to overcome.
The second half was a different story, featuring several turnovers, punts, and even a pick-six for the Pike Central defense. The Chargers’ defense managed three interceptions and recovered a fumble, one of which was returned approximately 90 yards for a touchdown. However, it wasn’t enough to mount a significant comeback against North Posey’s solid lead. Kade Mauck contributed to the Vikings’ ground game with eight carries for 56 yards, while Dylan Murphy led the team with five catches for 55 yards. Despite the somewhat chaotic second half, North Posey’s decisive win propels them into the postseason with momentum as they prepare for a road trip to face South Vermillion in the sectional opener next week. Fans and players alike are eager to see if the Vikings can carry their regular-season success into a deep playoff run.
