North Posey Vikings Basketball Recap VS Central 11-26-24
The North Posey Vikings opened their season with a tough loss to Central, falling 56-33 in a game marked by scoring droughts and a slow offensive start. The Vikings now sit at 0-1 on the season.
Central took control early, outscoring North Posey 12-7 in the first quarter to set the tone. The second quarter proved pivotal, as the Vikings went cold for a six-minute stretch and managed only two points, while Central added 14 to take a commanding 26-9 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, North Posey showed some fight but couldn't close the gap, being outscored 13-11. Heading into the final frame, Central extended their lead further, winning the fourth quarter 17-13 to seal the 23-point victory.
Austin Schmidt led the Vikings in scoring with 10 points, while Ethan Mansfield contributed 8, all in the second half. Other scorers included Brayden Compton with 6 points, Stone Riecken with 3, and Noah Koester, Trey Beucher, and Peyton Seymour each adding 2.
Despite the challenging start, the Vikings will look to regroup and find their rhythm as the season progresses.
