Mount Vernon Wildcats Basketball Recap VS Mount Carmel 12-14-24

The Mount Vernon Wildcats cruised to a decisive 67-25 victory over the Mount Carmel Golden Aces. The win moves the Wildcats to 3-2 on the season, showcasing their ability to bounce back after a tough loss the night before. Mount Vernon's defense set the tone early, smothering Mount Carmel's offensive efforts and forcing their star player, Jack Webb, into an off night. Webb was held to just seven points, thanks in large part to a relentless defensive effort by Brady Schickel.

The Wildcats shined on both ends of the court, with Nash Hostetter leading the way offensively, scoring 18 points on efficient shooting. Meyer Robb contributed a stellar 20-point performance, dominating in the paint and on the boards with eight rebounds. Bryce Clowers added 10 points, all in the first half, providing a strong start for Mount Vernon. Jack Campbell was perfect from the field, scoring seven points and pulling down six rebounds, while Greyson Buse delivered a defensive masterclass, frustrating Mount Carmel’s scorers all afternoon.

Mount Vernon’s depth was also on display, with contributions from nearly every player. Isiah Taylor scored his first points of the season with a three-pointer, and Logan Clowers added two points off the bench.
