News:
A temporary road closure will impact drivers on State Road 62 in Posey County this week. The Indiana Department of Transportation says the temporary road closures will begin today. That's when contractors with Center Point Energy and High-Country Construction will be out performing spot improvements along State Road 62 near Green Valley Drive. These projects call for temporary lane closures in both directions of State Road 62. According to the project manager, traffic will be controlled by a flagger team while the closures are active. Daily work will begin at 8:00 AM and wrap up by 6:00 PM, leaving the lanes open each evening. According to INDOT, if the weather cooperates, the project could be finished by the end of the week.
Posey County is still under a Burn Ban as we start this new week. No open burning is permitted at this time. Due to the extreme dryness and sometimes high winds, any burning outside is a great risk to property, buildings, people, and a hazard to the Firefighters that must combat fires. Further details regarding the lift of the burn ban will be issued later.
