News:

A Posey County woman has been convicted of conspiracy to manufacture meth and child neglect, officials say. According to a release, 37-year-old Megan Witt was sentenced to six years in prison after she plead guilty to multiple drug-related charges. Officials say those charges include conspiracy to manufacture meth, neglect of a dependent, unlawful sale of a precursor, and possession of meth. They say Witt admitted to conspiring to manufacture meth at her home with her children between January and May of 2021. Police records show that officers with the Posey County Drug Task Force received information about a possible active meth lab at the home on St. Phillips Road in Posey County. According to a release, back in May of 2021, the task force executed a search warrant and found multiple items associated with the manufacture of meth, as well as meth and numerous items of drug paraphernalia in the home and on the property. The investigation also revealed Witt’s two minor children resided at the home with her. Witt admitted to officers that her children were present inside the home when she used methamphetamine.

The University of Evansville says in 2023, it will launch a four-year Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Creative Technologies degree. Officials say the Creative Technologies program will provide hands-on learning opportunities for students to apply their knowledge and skills in various practical settings. Applications for the Bachelor of Science in Creative Technologies are now available for Fall 2023.

Haynie's Corner and Downtown Evansville are inviting the community to help raise money for a local bar. This comes after a car drove through Peephole Bar and Grill on Main Street nearly two weeks ago leaving a huge hole in the front of the business. The community now hopes to raise money in a spaghetti bowl. This Sunday, March 5th, residents can grab a bowl of spaghetti. There will also be a chance to see Downtown Evansville play against Haynie's Corner Arts District in a flag football match-up. Organizers say general admission is $5 and admission plus spaghetti is $15. The event will begin at 3:00 PM this Sunday at Sunset Park.
