North Posey Boys Tennis saw their season come to an end last night in the first round of Regionals as they lost to Gibson Southern, 5-0. The Vikings finished with an overall record of 14-8 and they won back-to-back sectional championships.

 

Last night in Girls Soccer Sectional action, Mt. Vernon defeated Bosse, 9-1. The Lady Wildcats improve to 7-9 on the year and advance to the 2nd round of sectionals. They will play Boonville tomorrow evening at 7:00 PM at the EVSC Soccer Fields.

North Posey Girls Soccer also picked up a Sectional Victory as they blanked Wood Memorial, 5-0. The Lady Vikings improve to 9-6 on the year. They will square off against Evansville Christian tomorrow night at 6:00 PM in the 2nd round of the South Spencer Sectional.

 

Coming up this evening in Boys Soccer Sectional action, North Posey plays Wood Memorial in the 2nd round of the Forest Park Sectional at 5:00 PM. The Vikings are 7-9 overall after they beat Evansville Christian 3-2 in Overtime on Monday in the 1st round of Sectionals.

Mt. Vernon Boys Soccer takes on Heritage Hills tonight at 7:00 PM in Lincoln City. The Wildcats are 3-13 and the Patriots are 15-1 overall. It’s the 1st sectional match for both teams as they both received a 1st round bye.

 

Mt. Vernon Volleyball got beat in straight sets at home last night by Tecumseh. The Lady Wildcats fall to 4-19 on the season.

 

There are just 2 weeks left in the High School Football regular season and earlier this week the updated Indiana High School Football Coaches Association Rankings were released. In Class 2A, the North Posey Vikings are ranked 6th. In Class 5A, Castle sits at 4th. In Class 4A, Reitz dropped to 13th. Class 3A has Memorial 1st, Heritage Hills 2nd, Mater Dei 3rd, Gibson Southern 5th, and Southridge is 10th.
