Railroad crews will be working at a crossing on State Rd 69 near Mt. Vernon today resulting in a full closure of the area. Officials say no traffic will be allowed through during the project. They say the work will take two days to complete.

 

Tonight, the town of Cynthiana is presenting Halloween in the Park. The event will last from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will be a Trunk or Treat, Pumpkin Painting, and Food.

 

Coming up tomorrow is the Poseyville Hide and Seek from the Police. You can show up at the Poseyville Community Center to receive your wristband at 8:00 PM. They say you will be released at 9:00 PM and be given a 15-minute head start. You can sign up for the event at the Poseyville Carnegie Public Library.

Also tomorrow, the Mt. Vernon Fire Department says their Halloween Trick or Treat will start at 3:00 PM at the Fire and Police Station. They say they will go until they run out of candy.

 

The University of Evansville Mental Health and Wellness Clinic and Emily M. Young Assessment Center are accepting new patients ages five and up. Their clinic is open to the public and no referrals are required. They say they accept most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, and offer a sliding scale fee for those who qualify. The Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District is set to host the Night Market this Friday. The free event will take place from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday and feature over 40 local makers on Fourth Street. Attendees will find locally made holiday-themed items, curated vintage, produce, and baked goods from a variety of vendors and businesses. According to a release, those local makers will be located on Fourth St. from Locust to Chestnut St. Officials say activities will include live music from DJ Chidi. From the NBA…the Indiana Pacers look to end a 3-game losing streak tonight as they return home and square off against the defending NBA Champions, Boston Celtics. The Pacers are 1-3 on the young season. Tonight’s tipoff is set for 6:00 PM.
