Access to a key road at a busy West Side Evansville intersection will reopen as work on the Lloyd Expressway continues. The Indiana Department of Transportation announced it will reopen Pearl Drive at the intersection with Red Bank Road "on or after" Tuesday. It had been closed while crews relocated a water main. The Red Bank work will now head just south of Pearl Drive, closing that section of roadway for about 15 days, INDOT said in a news release Monday.

The project is just one of several involved in the massive overhaul of Evansville's main artery. New pavement, bridge reconstruction and changes to the intersections have slowed traffic on the West Side. Farther east, crews have removed the stoplight at Vann Avenue and started work around Stockwell Road. By the time work wraps up in 2028, more than 20 Lloyd intersections will receive anything from small tweaks to complete reworkings.

The Alexandrian Public Library in Mt. Vernon has announced a Halloween event called “Boo Bash” this Friday from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM. Registration is required. They say that the doors for the event will open at 5:50 PM and there will be games, photos, refreshments, treat bags, and more. They encourage you to come dressed in a costume.

Coming up this Saturday morning at the North Posey High School Football field is the annual Punt, Pass, and Kick Contest for boys and girls ages 8-12. The Kiwanis Club of Poseyville will sponsor the competition. First, Second, and Third place trophies will be awarded in each of the five age categories. Ribbons will be awarded to all participants. No entry fee will be charged, and the contest is open to any student in the age range of 8-12 who attends a school within the boundaries of the M.S.D. of North Posey. The Kiwanis Club of Poseyville will supply the footballs, prizes, kicking tees, and workers.
