A wave of brutally cold wind chills and maybe even some weak snow showers could sweep over the tri-state area in the coming days. According to the Paducah office of the National Weather Service, temperatures at the beginning of December could be as cold as 20 degrees below normal. High temperatures will barely crack the 30’s on December 1st through the 3rd and the lows will hover in the teens. The feel-like temperatures could plummet to the single digits in the early-morning hours. That's much colder than this time last year. The beginning of December of 2023 brought high temperatures in the mid-50s, with a day or two in the 60s. The high temps dropped below 40 only three times. Temperate weather has been the norm most of this November as well. While there is a slight chance for a few snow flurries later in the week, impactful winter weather is not expected.
