The Evansville Thunderbolts are offering a free game to the public this week in an effort to #FillTheFord. Officials say all tickets to their playoff game tonight against the Peoria Rivermen are free. All you need to do is walk into the Ford Center and find a seat. The puck drops at 7:00 PM.
From local high school sports on Tuesday night…Mt. Vernon Baseball got beat at home by Forest Park, 12-4.

North Posey Softball had last night off, but they hit the road to play Princeton this evening at 5:30 PM.

In local college baseball from last night…Evansville earned a 5-4 win over the Hoosiers up in Bloomington. The Purple Aces have now won 5-straight games and 9 of their last 10 games to run their record to 19-17 on the season. They will be at Bradley for a 3-game conference series this weekend starting on Friday.
USI Baseball lost a pitchers’ duel at home against the Tops of WKU, 2-1. The Screaming Eagles fall to 15-22 on the year and will welcome UT Martin on Friday for a 3-game OVC series.
From Major League Baseball on Tuesday…the St. Louis Cardinals earned back-to-back wins in Oakland over the Athletics, 3-2. Lance Lynn earned the win on the mound as he pitched 7 innings and gave up 2 runs, 1 earned run, and 5 hits. The Cardinals are now 9-9 on the season and will go for the 3-game sweep out west today at 2:37 PM.
