Early Voting for this year’s General Election starts today at the Courthouse Election Office and continues daily Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM through November 1st. Other dates are Saturday’s October 26th and November 2nd from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Monday November 4th from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Other Early Voting locations include the Poseyville Community Center & Marrs Fire Department on Ford Road on Saturday, October 26th & November 2nd from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Absentee mail-in ballot applications are accepted until October 24th. You can call the election office to request an application or apply on IndianaVoters.com. General Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th. All Posey County registered voters can vote at any of the 10 Vote Center locations in Posey County.
To find your nearest voting location, you can go to IndianaVoters.com. You can also call the Courthouse Election Office at (812) 838-1339 with any questions. 

 

It’s been announced that the annual Punt, Pass, and Kick competition at North Posey High School will be on Saturday, October 19th at 9:00 AM. The event is free and open to anyone in the age range of 8-12 years old as of December 31st, 2024.

 

If you are an expectant mother, the University of Southern Indiana is giving you the opportunity to see your baby before they are born! The university’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is offering non-diagnostic ultrasounds through April of next year. The ultrasound appointments are on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and are available to pregnant women in their second or third trimester. University officials say students will be practicing assigned images under the direction of experienced faculty members. To schedule an appointment, email usi1dms@usi.edu.

 

North Posey Boys Tennis play in Regionals tonight against Gibson Southern. The Vikings won back-to-back sectional championships on Saturday when they beat Mater Dei, 4-1. If North Posey wins tonight, they would then play in the Regional Championship Match tomorrow against the winner of Castle and Memorial.

 

IHSAA Soccer Sectionals are this week. Last night in the Forest Park Sectional, North Posey Boys Soccer beat Evansville Christian, 3-2 in Overtime. The Vikings improve to 7-9 and will play Wood Memorial in the second-round tomorrow evening.

Mt. Vernon Boys Soccer takes on Heritage Hills tomorrow night at 7:00 PM in Lincoln City. The Wildcats are 3-13 and the Patriots are 15-1 overall.

In Girls Soccer Sectional action, Mt. Vernon plays Bosse tonight at 5:00 PM. Bosse is the host of the Sectional at the EVSC Soccer Fields. The Lady Wildcats are 6-9 on the season and the Bulldogs are winless at 0-15. North Posey Girls Soccer battles Wood Memorial this evening in round one. The Lady Vikings have a record of 8-6. That Sectional is hosted by South Spencer.

 

Last night North Posey Volleyball beat Princeton on the road in straight sets. It’s the Vikings 20th win of the season as they improve to 20-6.

Mt. Vernon Volleyball is home tonight as they take on Tecumseh. The JV match is at 6:00 PM and the Varsity match will follow at 7:30 PM.
