The Mt. Vernon Volleyball team begins postseason tonight in the Class 3A Sectional 32 at Gibson Southern. The Wildcats will play Memorial. They are the second match of the night, and the match will start around 7:30 PM.
Kiwanis Club of Poseyville says the annual Poseyville Kiwanis Club’s Punt, Pass, and Kick competition will be on Saturday, October 21st at 9:00 AM at North Posey High School. The competition is open to anyone who will be 8-12 years old as of December 31st, 2023. There is no cost to participate. Prizes will be handed out.
Family Matters of Posey County posted on Facebook that the Family Application Deadline is quickly approaching for the Posey County Christmas Assistance Program. The deadline is this Thursday, October 12th. All completed applications must be returned to Trinity U.C.C. by 2:00 PM on Thursday. There are applications still available at Family Matters, Posey County Trustee’s Offices, and Trinity U.C.C.
Mesker Park Zoo is holding nights of kid-friendly, not-so-scary, Halloween fun on October 13, 14, 21, 22, 23, 27, and 28 during Boo at the Zoo. Kids can Trick-or-Treat their way through the Zoo visiting candy stations, animal encounters, magic shows, life size dinosaurs, and more. There are two sessions on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM and 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Special event tickets are required for this after-hours event and are only available online at www.meskerparkzoo.com. Tickets are not sold at the gate. They are $6 for Zoo Members and $8 for Non-Members.
Old National Events Plaza in Evansville will play host to The Price is Right Live interactive stage show. According to a release, that’s happening on February 27th, 2024. Tickets are set to go on sale this Friday at 10:00 AM at the Plaza Box Office or Ticketmaster.com. A release shows alongside a celebrity host, randomly selected contestants play everyone’s favorite games like Plinko, Cliffhangers, the Big Wheel and even Showcase. The show features an array of fantastic prizes, from appliances and electronics to dream vacations and even a brand-new car. Lucky audience members can even win prizes right from their seat.

- North Posey JV Football lost at Southridge, 40-18.
- Mt. Vernon JV Football fell at Gibson Southern, 52-3.
- Evansville Volleyball snapped a 5-match losing streak and defeated Indiana State in 4-sets at home last night. The Purple Aces improved to 7-11 and 2-5 in the MVC.
