The second Poseyville Farmers Market of the year will be taking place today at the Poseyville community center from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Activities for the kids this week includes herb planting and painting. Jbs barnyard ice cream and hot diggity dog will be the food trucks on site.
And the second Wadesville farmers market will be coming up this Thursday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. You can find that market located across from the old Subway building on highway 66.
The Posey County Fair Association is looking for volunteers to work the gates for the upcoming Posey County Fair taking place Sunday July 14th through Saturday the 20th. Times are 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and any business or organization interested in helping can contact Laurie Hartman at 812-454-3753
The Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District has announced they will be hosting the Night Market this Friday. According to a release, the event will feature 20+ local makers on the 900 block of Main Street. It’s taking place this Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Organizers say attendees can discover handmade goods, local producers and treats from a diverse range of vendors and businesses. Activities will include live music from D.R. Bridges and a colorful fringe backdrop for photo memories near Main Street Food and Beverage at 900 Main Street. Admission for the event is free. Ellis Park Racing & Gaming is set to welcome back fans for the start of the 25-day summer season, featuring high-quality racing and family friendly events across the meet spanning July 4th through August 26th. This season, live racing will be held three days a week, Saturday through Monday, except for opening week which will run Thursday through Sunday. Dollar Days are back each Sunday throughout the season featuring discounted hot dogs, soft drinks and beer. The St. Louis Cardinals had Monday off and return to action tonight at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates at 6:45 PM. The Cardinals are 31-33 on the year. You can hear tonight’s game on 106.7 FM WMVI.
The Chicago Cubs were also off last night. Chicago hits the road and will play down south in Tampa Florida against the Rays at 5:50 PM this evening. The Cubs are 32-24 on the season.
The Cincinnati Reds also did not play yesterday. They welcome the Cleveland Guardians tonight at 6:10 PM. The Reds sit at 32-34 on the year.
