Posey County authorities say they've arrested a man following a deadly crash that happened yesterday. The Posey County Sheriff's Office says 35-year-old Dustin Broad of Spotsville, Kentucky, was arrested in connection to the crash. Deputies were called to the scene of the crash around SR 66 and Bluegrass Road. At the scene, the Sheriff’s Office says a man and a woman were inside a vehicle in a ditch, and that the woman who was identified as 38-year-old Jodi Beth Wheeler of Chandler, was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was able to get out and was taken to the hospital. He was later released and identified as Broad. Broad was driving on a suspended license and had several active warrants from Vanderburgh County and Warrick County. Broad is also suspected of driving under the influence at the time of yesterday’s deadly crash. Broad was booked into the Posey County Jail on felony charges of DUI and DUI causing death, along with several misdemeanor charges. The sheriff's office says Broad has a prior conviction for driving under the influence.
The Posey County Fair continues tonight in New Harmony. Tonight’s events include the Relay for Life Meal at the Community Center from 5:00-7:00 PM, The Tiny and Little Miss Contest at 6:00 PM at the Community Center, the Bike Drag Races at 7:00 PM, and a Professional Rodeo in the Main Arena at 7:30 PM. General admission is $8 per person and free admission for children 10 and under. Veterans receive free admission tomorrow and first responders will have free admission on Thursday. The Mt. Vernon Police Department wants to let the community know that they are looking to hire. Starting pay is 52,300 dollars, with a 2,000 dollar increase after the probationary year. You can apply now at mountvernonin.gov.
Coming up this Saturday is the Mt. Vernon M-Club All In Posey Poker Run. You can still pre-register for 15 dollars per-person through Friday. Walk-up registration will be 20 dollars per-rider on Saturday at 10:00 AM and the ride starts at 11:00 AM. The ride will start at U&S Farms, which is located at 403 Crab Orchard Road in Mt. Vernon. The ride features lots of beautiful scenery along the DNR nature preserves and Wabash River of Posey County. If you want to follow along via GPS, you can download the free app called Ramblr. They will upload the 54-mile route on Saturday morning.
The Poseyville Police Department is warning the area of a new scam that is going on. They say it was brought to their attention that a new scam that appears to be a message or a text from their Fire Department offering money off shirt orders. The Department says do not click the link, because it is spam.
The YMCA in Evansville will now be able to serve more children and families after renovating and expanding its CenterPoint Energy YMCA building on S. Garvin Street. According to organizers, the facility received an 1800 square feet expansion which includes a multi-purpose community center and commercial kitchen. The building entrance, security system, a new roof and landscaping were done as part of exterior renovations. Additionally, officials say you’ll be able to visit their new STEM Lab, Technology Center and upgraded gymnasium. The Evansville YMCA will host a community celebration and open house with food and tours of the facility from 4:00 to 6:00 PM today. Officials say community remarks and a ribbon cutting will be held from 5:00 to 5:30 PM.

- The Cincinnati Reds (50-44) and San Francisco Giants will finish their suspended game from last night at 4:40. The game is tied 2-2 in the 8th inning. The Reds and Giants will then play game 2 of the series at 6:10 PM. Cincinnati is trying to halt a 4-game losing streak.
- The Chicago White Sox (40-55) are in New York to battle the Mets at 6:10 PM.

- The St. Louis Cardinals (41-53) won a 3rd-straight game last night as they took the opener from the Miami Marlins at home, 6-4. The two teams continue their series tonight in St. Louis at 6:45 PM.
- The Chicago Cubs (43-50) fell at home to the Washington Nationals, 7-5.
- The Cincinnati Reds (50-44) who were looking to snap a 4-game losing streak had their game at home against the San Francisco Giants suspended due to rain. The two teams were tied 2-2 in the top of the 8th inning.
- The Chicago White Sox (40-55) were off last night and will play the Mets in New York this evening.
