North Posey Boys Basketball cruised to a victory at home last night over South Spencer, 68-39. It’s the Vikings 5th-straight win as they improve to 12-2 on the season. North Posey will play again on Saturday at Princeton.

 

Coming up tonight in local high school basketball, Mt. Vernon Girls Basketball plays their final game of the regular season at home against Wood Memorial at 6:30 PM. The Wildcats are 2-19 on the year and found out on Sunday that they will play Bosse in the first round of sectionals which starts a week from night.

 

North Posey Girls Basketball has two games left in their regular season and one of those games is this evening. The Vikings travel to South Spencer for a 7:00 PM tipoff. North Posey is 8-13 and they found out on Sunday that they will play Crawford County in the first round of sectionals next Tuesday night. North Posey will close the regular season on Thursday at home against Forest Park.

 

Heart of Poseyville posted on Facebook that tonight there is a Posey County Comprehensive Plan Review Session. The community is invited to learn about the newest comprehensive plan, provide feedback, and ask questions. It starts tonight at 6:00 PM at the Poseyville Community Center which is located at 60 North Church Street.

 

The Posey County Job Fair is coming up later this week. It will take place on Thursday at the Posey County Community Center. It will be open for high school students from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM and the general public from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM. We have been told that the Job Fair is maxed out with 32 employers planning to be on site.

 

The AMC Theatres located on the west side of Evansville is temporarily closed. According to the AMC Theatres website, the theatre is closed for unforeseen maintenance. No word on when the theatre will reopen.

 

 

Tonight, in college Basketball…the Evansville Purple Aces Men’s Basketball team plays on the road at Northern Iowa at 7:00 PM. The Purple Aces are 11-8 on the year and 2-6 in the MVC.

#2 Purdue welcomes Michigan at 8:00 PM as the Boilermakers look to improve on their 17-2 overall record and 6-2 mark in the Big 10.

#6 Kentucky hits the road to battle South Carolina at 6:00 PM. The Cats are 14-3 and 4-1 in the SEC.

The Louisville Cardinals play host to #12 Duke at 6:00 PM. The Cards continue to struggle as they are 6-12 and 1-6 in the ACC.

 

From the NBA, the Indiana Pacers return home after a long 6-game road-trip and welcome the Denver Nuggets to town for a 6:00 PM tipoff. The Pacers are hoping to avoid a 3rd-straight loss as they sit at 24-19 on the season.
