A winter storm is expected to move into the Tri-State this afternoon and evening. Right now, the tri-state area is expecting 3-5 inches of snow, with up to 6 inches of snow in Western Kentucky. Snow will continue Tuesday night and should taper off by midday on Wednesday. Bitter cold temperatures will hang on throughout the work week with daily highs in the 20s today and Wednesday. Highs will drop into the teens on Thursday and bounce back up into the mid-20s on Friday. Wind chills during this time may sink to 10 below zero and colder. From the Evansville Regional Airport, they have measured 16.7 inches of snow for the season. This is the snowiest winter since 2014-15 when we had 18.5 inches of snow for the season.
Officials with the University of Southern Indiana say they are adding an Artificial Intelligence concentration starting this year. In a news release, the college says the program is designed to accommodate the needs of working professionals who are working toward their Master of Business Administration. The 30-credit-hour program can be completed 100% online or hybrid, with a mix of in-person and online classes in less than a year. According to officials, the Artificial Intelligence concentration develops proficiency in AI-driven business strategies, decision-making processes and AI tools for business innovation and efficiency. Students can start taking classes for the AI concentration during the Summer 2025 term, which begins May 19th.
Historic New Harmony’s Facebook page says that registration is now open for Heritage Artisans Days. It will take place April 23rd through 25th at the Atheneum Visitor Center. It is an annual tradition of inviting thousands of elementary school children to learn what life was like living in New Harmony in the 1800s. Public schools, private schools, homeschool groups, and the general public are all welcome to attend Heritage Artisans Days. In Men’s College Basketball tonight, #13 Purdue heads to #14 Michigan State at 6:00 PM. The Boilermakers are looking to avoid a third-straight loss as they sit at 19-7 on the season and 11-4 in the Big 10. Purdue is in 3rd place in the conference standings. They are half a game behind their opponent tonight in Michigan State and a game and a half behind first-place Michigan.
The Illinois Fighting Illini play at #11 Wisconsin at 7:30 PM. The Illini have a record of 17-9 and 9-7 in the Big 10.
