The Poseyville Farmer’s Market posted on Facebook that coming up tonight at their market, you can bring your little ones by from 5:00 until 6:00 PM and have the Town Marshall, Charles Carter fingerprint them. They say it’s not only great fun for the kiddos, but also gives parents a much-needed piece of information for years to come.

United Fidelity Bank’s 14th annual Community Day is this Saturday. The event will take place at the Mt. Vernon Banking Center located at 500 East Fourth Street in Mt. Vernon from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. You can stop by and enjoy free hotdogs, popcorn, Snow Cones, and drinks. There will also be drawings for IU football tickets, Brew Fest tickets, Western Hills Country Club golf passes, plus various other great prizes! Inflatables will be set up for the kids to enjoy. In addition, Musician Nick Smith, the Mt. Vernon High School Cheerleaders, and the WolfGang Orchestra Jazz Band will be on hand to provide additional entertainment. More than 35 local civic and community organizations will be available. Community Day is free of charge, including food and refreshments courtesy of United Fidelity Bank and McKim’s IGA.

The University of Southern Indiana says all 78 of their May 2023 undergraduates that took the NCLEX to become a licensed RN, have passed on their first attempt. This 100 percent pass rate is over 12 percent of the national yearly pass rate.

The Town of Poseyville posted on Facebook that this Thursday night there is a Military Records Request Seminar. It will take place at the Poseyville Community Center on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM. The Poseyville Community Center is located at 60 N Church Street in Poseyville. All Veteran’s and/or family members of both living and deceased Veterans are invited to an informative evening on how to request your military records. This is a how-to seminar where a live version of the process will be viewed. Handouts and assistance will also be available. This is open to the public.

United Way of Posey County is selling Hawg n’ Sauce goodies for a fundraiser. The pick-up date is Friday August 25^th from 9:00 AM until noon. United Way of Posey County receives 40% back. All orders and payments are due by Wednesday, August 23rd. If you are writing a check, they say to make it out to the United Way of Posey County. Orders will be picked up at the United Way of Posey County’s office on the 25th, which is located at 215 South Kimball Street in Mt. Vernon. Mt. Vernon River Days is quickly approaching as we are now less than a month away from the event. It will take place on September 8^th and 9^th. Yesterday, they shared the schedule for all their events, activities, and entertainment for the two days. Also in the post was a list of Food Booths and Vendor List. • North Posey Girls Soccer travels to Harrison tonight at 6:30 PM.

• Mt. Vernon Girls Golf goes up against Central and Tecumseh this evening.  

• Mt. Vernon Girls Cross Country runs against Princeton at 5:00 PM.  

• The St. Louis Cardinals (53-66) and Oakland Athletics continue their series in St. Louis tonight at 6:45 PM. The Redbirds are going for a third-straight win. Catch the game on 106.7 FM WMVI.

• The Chicago Cubs (61-57) play host to the Chicago White Sox at 7:05 PM.  

• The Cincinnati Reds (62-58) are at home against the Cleveland Guardians at 5:40 PM.
