The second Wadesville farmers market is today from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. You can find that market located across from the old Subway building on highway 66.
Family Matters of Posey County posted on Facebook that coming up this Friday is the 6th Annual Family Matters Golf Scramble. It will start at 1:00 PM at Western Hills Country Club. To register, they say to call 812-838-6875. It is 65 dollars per person, or 260 dollars per team. There will be a burger bar for all registered golfers starting at noon. There is also a 10,000-dollar hole in one prize on hole 17.
Father’s Day is this Sunday and the Friends of Harmonie State Park is offering a great deal on Saturday to treat your Dad…as Breakfast is on them. Bring your family and join the Friends of Harmonie for Breakfast from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Saturday. Then you can enjoy the rest of the day hiking, fishing, or kicking back and relaxing in a beautiful setting.
The Posey County Fair Association is looking for volunteers to work the gates for the upcoming Posey County Fair taking place Sunday July 14th through Saturday the 20th. Times are 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and any business or organization interested in helping can contact Laurie Hartman at 812-454-3753.
Ivy Tech Community College in Evansville is planning to celebrate Juneteenth this coming Tuesday with an indoor vendor fair. According to a press release, the vendor fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 18 in the Koch Student Center on the Main Campus. Officials say this event is free to the public. It will feature music, art and multiple other vendors with items for sale and information to share. Food trucks will be available in the courtyard on the south side of the main campus during the event. All Ivy Tech locations will be closed on Tuesday and no classes will be held.
An outdoor summertime event is coming to Evansville this Friday. The Evansville Police Department and the Evansville Parks Department are partnering up to kick off the all-new summer "Movie Night in the Park" series. Members of the public can watch “Sing 2” on Friday, June 14, at 8:15 PM at Stockwell Park. The event is free, with attendees encouraged to bring their own chairs and refreshments. Food trucks will also be available on site for anyone who would like to purchase food. In addition to EPD, members of the Evansville Fire Department will also be present for the event. The public is encouraged to use the free event as an opportunity to meet with the city's first responders.
The St. Louis Cardinals picked up a win at home last night against the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-2. The Cardinals improve to 32-34 on the year. St. Louis and Pittsburgh have split the first two games of the series and wrap up the three-game set today at 1:15 PM.
The Chicago Cubs edged the Tampa Bay Rays on the road, 4-3. Chicago is now 33-35 on the season. Those two teams finish up their series in Tampa tonight at 5:50 PM.
The Cincinnati Reds took care of the Cleveland Guardians in Cincy, 4-2. The Redlegs are now 33-35 on the year. Cincinnati is off today and will return to action tomorrow night when they open a 3-game weekend set in Milwaukee against the Brewers.
From the NBA…Game 3 of the Finals in Dallas last night went to the visiting Boston Celtics as they topped the Mavericks, 106-99. Jason Tatum had 31 points to pace Boston and Jaylen Brown added 30 points. The Celtics now lead the best-of-seven NBA Finals, 3-0. Game 4 is in Dallas on Friday at 7:30 PM.
