The City of Mount Vernon has announced on Facebook that there is a boil advisory in effect for Farmersville and Blackford Roads area Northeast of the city limits. They have stated that the advisory will stand until 8:00 AM tomorrow. If there are any changes to the boil order, we will let you know here at Posey County Radio.
Newlife Rescue and Adoption has announced that their annual Live and Silent Auction will be taking place in February. The official date is Saturday February 8th, and it will take place at the Posey County Community Center at the fairgrounds. Ticket cost is $35 per person and the event is for those 21 years of age and older. Dinner will be catered by Hawg N Sauce. The doors will open at 5 PM and dinner will be served at 6PM. Newlife officials say that every dollar raised goes toward rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of animals in need. Evansville Men’s Basketball traveled to Carbondale yesterday and earned a 68-53 win against the Salukis of Southern Illinois. Aces Point Guard, Tayshawn Comer scored a career-high 26 points and Cam Haffner added 20 points. UE has won back-to-back games to improve to 5-9 overall and 2-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Aces’ next game is on Saturday as they play host to Indiana State at 1:00 PM.
Coming up this evening both USI Women’s and Men’s Basketball plays a road conference game at Tennessee Tech. The Women’s team plays first tonight at 5:30 PM as the Lady Eagles are going for a 4th-straight win. They are 11-3 on the year and 3-0 in the OVC.
USI Men’s Basketball hopes to avoid a 3rd-straight loss at Tennessee Tech at 7:30 PM. The Screaming Eagles sit at 6-7 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.
In other Men’s College Basketball action tonight, the Indiana Hoosiers play at home as they take on Rutgers at 7:30 PM. The Hoosiers are 10-3 overall and 1-1 in the Big 10.
20th ranked Purdue hits the road to battle Minnesota at 7:00 PM. The Boilermakers are 9-4 and 1-1 in conference action.
22nd ranked Illinois heads to 9th ranked Oregon for a 9:00 PM tipoff. The Fighting Illini have a record of 9-3 and are 1-1 in Big 10 play.
From the NBA this evening…the Indiana Pacers head south to square off against the Miami Heat at 6:30 PM. The Pacers sit at 16-18 on the year.
