It’s a busy night for high school basketball in Posey County. North Posey Boys Basketball heads to South Spencer for a 5:30 PM JV contest and the Varsity game will be around 7:00 PM. You can listen to the Varsity game on 98.9 FM WPIW and online at poseycountyradio.com. The Vikings are 7-6 overall.
Mt. Vernon Boys Basketball continues play over in the Carmi White County Tournament at 5:30 PM. This evening the Wildcats will take on Fairfield. That game can be found on 106.7 FM WMVI and online at poseycountyradio.com. The Wildcats have a record of 5-7.
North Posey Girls Basketball is at home as they welcome Tecumseh. It is a Varsity only game at 6:00 PM. The Lady Vikings are 12-6 on the season.
Last night in local college sports…Evansville Men’s Basketball fell at home to Illinois-Chicago, 78-67. The Purple Aces have now lost 4-straight games as they are 6-14 on the year and 3-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Tayshawn Comer had 18 points and 8 assists for UE. Their next game is on Saturday at Valparaiso.
The Indiana Hoosiers got tripped up at Northwestern on Wednesday night, 79-70. Mackenzie Mgbako scored 20 points for the Hoosiers, who are now 14-6 overall and 5-4 in the Big 10. IU is home on Sunday against Maryland.
Both USI Women’s and Men’s Basketball is back in action this evening at SIUE. The Women’s game tips at 5:00 PM as they are going for a 3rd-straight victory. USI Women’s Basketball sits at 14-5 and 6-2 in the OVC. The Men’s game is slated for a 7:30 PM tipoff and the Screaming Eagles are hoping for a 3rd-straight win in that game as well. USI Men’s Basketball is 8-10 on the season and 3-5 in the OVC.
