Officials with Mt. Vernon Utilities have issued a boil advisory for all water customers west of West Elementary School. Officials say this includes the Park Ridge and country club subdivisions, and that they expect the order to be lifted late Friday afternoon.
The Evansville Area Trails Coalition and Evansville Department of Parks & Recreation announced Wednesday they received the Next Level Trail Grant award to upgrade and build new trail sections that will link multiple parks, including the Roberts Festival Grounds and Wesselman Park. According to a press release, the grant proposal was submitted earlier this year and has now received approval from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. The grant will fund the development and improvement of over two miles of Wesselman Park Loop Trail connecting to the Walnut Street Improvement Project at Vann Avenue. It will provide connections to Woodmere Park, Wesselman Park, the Roberts Festival Grounds, Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve, downtown Evansville and the Greenway Riverfront segments. The trail project is slated to begin in 2024 and is expected to be completed by 2026.
Evansville Men’s Basketball had a convincing win at home last night against Tennessee Tech, 82-51. Chuck Bailey had 18 points off the Aces bench, Ben Humrichous poured in 15 points, and Yacine Toumi collected a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. UE improves to 10-2 on the year and will be off until December 29th when they travel to Cincinnati.
The Indiana Pacers snapped a 4-game losing streak last night with a 144-113 thumping of the Charlotte Hornets at home. Buddy Hield led the Pacers with 25 points and Tyrese Haliburton had 19 points and 13 assists. Indiana is now 14-12 and will travel to Memphis tonight to square off against the Grizzlies at 7:00 PM.
