Officials are asking every Hoosier business, school and family to participate in the statewide tornado drill tomorrow morning. At 9:15 AM Central Time tomorrow, the NWS will issue a test tornado warning alert, which will be shared through most notification systems, including the statewide Emergency Alert System (EAS). The drill allows you to practice where to go, what to do and what to take so you are prepared in the event of a real tornado warning. There will be no follow-up alerts issued by the NWS to mark the end of the statewide tornado drill. It ends when your business, school or family feels that you have adequately practiced your safety procedures.
Family Matters of Posey County is having a Big Brothers Big Sisters Volunteer Recruitment Event tomorrow evening from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM. It will be held at the Alexandrian Public Library in Mt. Vernon. They will be set up in the Wabash Room.
Coming up this Friday, the Knights of St. John is hosting their annual Fish Fry in St. Wendel. Dinner will be served from 5:00-7:00 PM and there will be dine-in and drive-thru options. The menu consists of Fried Fish, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, Macaroni and Cheese, Cornbread, and Drinks. The cost is 6 dollars for children and 13 dollars for adults. After the dinner portion, music and dancing is from 7:00-11:00 PM.
This past Friday, both the Mt. Vernon and North Posey Boys Basketball teams saw their seasons come to an end in the Semi-Final Round of the Sectional. Mt. Vernon lost to Memorial, 73-55 in the Class 3A Sectional 32 at Boonville High School. The Wildcats finished with a 13-13 record.
North Posey Boys Basketball fell short against Forest Park, 37-35. The Vikings season ended with 12-12 record.

In the NBA tonight…the Indiana Pacers finish up a 3-game road-trip in Chicago against the Bulls at 7:00 PM. The Pacers are trying to avoid a 3rd-straight loss. They have a record of 35-27.
