Last night in local high school sports…North Posey Girls Basketball lost at home against the Washington Hatchets, 62-45. The Hatchets are ranked #3 in Class 3A. Alyssa Heath was the lone North Posey player in double figures with 23 points. The Lady Vikings slip to 4-3 on the season and will play at Reitz on Monday.

 

From local college sports last night…the Evansville Purple Aces Men’s Basketball team got fell at home to Chattanooga, 75-67. Tanner Cuff had 18 points for UE, while Tayshawn Comer added 15 points, and Gabriel Pozzato poured in 12 points. The Aces have now lost 3-straight games as they are 3-7 overall. Their next game is on Wednesday at UT-Arlington.

 

Schedule update for Christmas on Main Street this weekend in Mt. Vernon. Organizers say with the rain chances for Saturday afternoon, they are making a few changes in order maximize fun for this weekend. The Jeep Jamboree has been moved to Sunday from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. They are moving the 5 hours of ice rink time to Sunday as well, which means the ice rink will be open from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM. They have a tent for the Kids Party, so that will remain on Saturday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. The parade and tree lighting as also been moved to Sunday evening as the parade will begin at 6:00 PM and the tree lighting will take place right after the parade is finished.

 

The Poseyville Library is encouraging the community to join them tomorrow from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM for a meet and greet with some great local authors. The Poseyville Carnegie Public Library is located at 55 South Cale Street in Poseyville.

 

Tonight, the 5th annual Santa Stroll will brighten up Main Street in Evansville from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The event, which is put on by the Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District, will feature several costumed characters who will greet visitors and pose for photos. Event organizers say guests will stroll along Main Street starting at Riverside Drive and enjoy holiday decorations and numerous lighting displays. Free hot chocolate will be served on Main Street in front of the Innovation Pointe Building. EID officials say volunteers will hand out free ornaments, crafts and stickers to children at some of the lighting installations. In local high school basketball this evening…North Posey Boys Basketball is home against Heritage Hills. The JV game begins at 5:30 PM and the Varsity game will follow at 7:00 PM. You can hear the Varsity game on 98.9 FM WPIW and online at poseycountyradio.com. The Vikings have won 3-straight games and are 3-2 on the season.

 

Mt. Vernon Boys Basketball welcomes Central tonight. The JV game is at 5:30 PM and the Varsity game tips at 7:00 PM. The Varsity game can be found on 106.7 FM WMVI and online at poseycountyradio.com. The Wildcats are 2-1 on the year.

 

The Indiana Hoosiers Men’s Basketball team journeys to Nebraska this evening at 7:00 PM. The Hoosiers have won 4-straight games as they are 8-2 and 1-0 in the BIG 10.

 

The Indiana Pacers return to action after 4 days off as they are in Philadelphia to battle the 76ers at 6:00 PM. The Pacers have lost 5 of their last 6 games as they have a record of 10-15.
