Harmonie State Park says their Easter Egg Hunt will happen rain, or shine tomorrow morning. It will start promptly at 10:00 AM and you should meet at the old pool area. This is for kids that are 10 years of age and younger. Gate fees do apply. It is 7 dollars for Indiana plated vehicles and 9 dollars for out-of-state vehicles, or you can use your annual entrance pass.
Last night, North Posey Baseball shutout Pike Central at home, 12-0, in 5 innings. Vikings Baseball improves to 6-3 overall.
Mt. Vernon Baseball lost at home to Gibson Southern, 15-5, in 5 innings. The Wildcats now have a record of 1-4.
No varsity sports teams are in action this evening and looking ahead to Saturday, Mt. Vernon Baseball will journey to Harrisburg at 11:00 AM and Mt. Vernon Softball will play at Forest Park at 10:00 AM.
In local college sports from Thursday night…USI Baseball lost their opening game of a 3-game series at SIU Edwardsville, 10-4. The Screaming Eagles have now lost 6-straight games as they drop to 16-21 on the year and 7-6 in the Ohio Valley Conference. USI plays a doubleheader today at SIU Edwardsville at 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM.
Evansville Baseball got shutout in the opening game of a 3-game series at home against Indiana State, 2-0. The Purple Aces losing streak has reached 6-straight games. They are 11-25 on the season and 5-8 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Game two of the series with the Sycamores is this evening at 6:00 PM in Evansville.
In Major League Baseball from yesterday…the St. Louis Cardinals got beat in New York by the Mets, 4-1. The Cardinals dip to 9-10 overall. Game 2 of their 4-game set at the Mets is tonight at 6:10 PM.
The Chicago Cubs did not play on Thursday, but they open a 3-game series at home this afternoon with the Arizona D-Backs at 1:20 PM. The Cubs sit at 12-9.
The Cincinnati Reds dropped the series finale at home against the Seattle Mariners, 11-7 in 10 innings. The Reds blew a 2-run lead in the 9th inning. Cincinnati tumbles to 9-10 on the season. They head to Baltimore for a 3-game series against the Orioles tonight at 6:05 PM.
Tomorrow, the NBA Playoffs begin, and the Indiana Pacers will play at 12:00 PM at home against the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the Best-of-7 First Round Series. The Pacers are the #4 Seed, and the Bucks are #5 Seed in the Eastern Conference. Indiana went 50-32 in the regular season.
