Work that CenterPoint Energy crews were previously scheduled to begin today has been delayed. Contractors with CenterPoint Energy had previously been scheduled to perform maintenance on power lines at North First Avenue and West Mill Road. According to officials, that job has been delayed until further notice. The work would have taken place from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and shut down the intersection completely. A reschedule date hasn't been announced.
Now through June 30th, 2023, the Metropolitan Evansville Transit System (METS), in partnership with SWIRCA to provide free bus rides to disabled persons and seniors 65 years and older who reside in the City of Evansville. Officials say all of this was made possible through community support and grant funding received by SWIRCA & More. To qualify for a free ride, eligible riders will simply need to provide their current state-issued photo ID showing proof of age, if 65 and older. For those under the age of 65, riders will need to go to METS with their Medicare card and current state-issued photo ID and get a free METS Discount Card. Another ‘Access to Service Fair’ event will be held this week. That means people will be able to speak one-on-one with CenterPoint Energy and Evansville Water and Sewer Utility representatives about their accounts. Officials from local assistance agencies and Township Trustees Offices will also be there. That event will take place Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the CK Newsome Center. Another ‘Access to Service Fair’ is also planned for Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

- Evansville Men's Basketball travels to Bradley tonight at 7:00 PM. The Purple Aces are 4-13 on the season and 0-6 in the MVC.
- Evansville Women's Basketball welcomes Indiana State at 6:00 PM. UE Women's Basketball sits at 6-6 and 1-3 in the MVC.
- In other Men's College Basketball tonight...IU (10-5, 1-3) heads to Penn State at 6:00 PM. SIU (12-5, 4-2) plays at Indiana State (13-4, 6-0) at 6:00 PM. Louisville (2-14, 0-5) is on the road at Clemson at 8:00 PM. WKU (9-6, 1-3) pays a visit to UAB at 8:00 PM.
- The Indiana Pacers (23-18) are at the New York Knicks at 6:30 PM.
